I'll be very surprised if anyone reading this hires me to draw editorial cartoons. It's a very specialized line of work, and the number of potential employers (mostly large daily newspapers) is small and getting smaller. More importantly, it's the one area where a potential client can't tell me what to draw: I choose my own political cartoon subjects and express my own opinions. But I've drawn nearly 3,000 political cartoons since 1977 for the Durham Morning Herald, Spectator Magazine and the Independent Weekly, so I might as well include them on a site devoted to my work.
All the cartoons here appeared in the Independent during the past five years. I chose them more for their artistic interest than for any political insight they might contain. I post a new cartoon every week on www.indyweek.com and www.editorialcartoonists.com, where you can also see archives of all my editorial cartoons from the past few years.
