Covers

I've loved magazines since I bought my first copy of Mad way back in 1960. (It was issue # 56; I still have it.) A good cover will grab the reader's eye, reflect a magazine's personality and supply a witty visual summary of the story it illustrates -- all in a matter of seconds.

Most of the covers shown here were drawn for magazines in Raleigh and Durham. The lessons I learned creating them can also be applied to invitations, program covers, brochures, presentations, packaging and anything else that needs to be hard to ignore and easy to remember.
